Three Billionaires, One Chicken Feast with Somaek

Soju new most popular drink

Diners at a bustling Seoul fried chicken restaurant got the surprise of a lifetime when three of the world’s most powerful business leaders casually walked in and picked up everyone’s tab.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose AI chip empire has made his company the most valuable in the world, was spotted dining at KKANBU Chicken, a popular chimaek* joint, alongside Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Chung Eui-sun.

The trio's unexpected outing during the APEC Summit in Gyeongju, Korea, turned into an instant sensation. The sight of three global business leaders embracing Korea's beloved chimaek and somaek culture captivated millions on social media, proving that even tech titans and industry giants can't resist the magic of fried chicken paired with Terra beer and JINRO soju and Terra beer.

“KKANBU,” More Than Just a Restaurant Name, Where JINRO Soju Makes Friends

According to Korea’s Yeonhap News Agency, the group shared a hearty spread fried chicken, cheese sticks, cheese balls, and plenty of JINRO Chamisul Soju, Korea’s No.1 spirit and the world’s best selling spirit brand, and cold Terra Beer.
As locals and onlookers crowded around the scene, Huang greeted passersby with a grin. “I love fried chicken and beer with my friends, so KKANBU is a perfect place, right?” he told live-streaming fans.
In Korean slang, kkanbu means “a close friend,” fitting, given the camaraderie on display that evening. What made the evening truly unforgettable was watching the Somaek Tower in action. The tower, a transparent dispenser that works like a mini-keg, automatically mixed beer and soju in a mesmerizing swirling motion before dispensing the perfect blend via tap. This sleek innovation takes the guesswork out of achieving the legendary golden ratio, three parts Soju to seven parts beer, ensuring every glass is consistently perfect without the need for manual mixing or the traditional “bomb shot” ritual of dropping a shot glass into beer.  As the JINRO Chamisul Soju cascaded through the tower into the waiting beer below, creating the ideal golden ratio, Huang was visibly impressed. “It tastes a thousand times better,” he remarked.

JINRO Unites Global Power Players

Footage captured by local media showed the billionaires linking arms for a traditional “love shot,” a popular Korean toast that symbolizes friendship and respect. Laughter filled the room as they raised their glasses, blurring the line between global executives and everyday diners.

This became a true “Drink to Link” moment—a reminder that JINRO has been at the heart of Korea's spirit of togetherness for generations, whether you're celebrating with old friends or making new ones.

Before leaving, Huang, Lee, and Chung stepped outside to personally hand out plates of fried chicken and cheese sticks to excited fans gathered at the entrance, a spontaneous act that sent phones flashing and social media buzzing.
